UN Peacekeepers Day

"Your destiny lies not as a peaceful island in a sea of troubles, but as a maker and shaper of world peace" President John F. Kennedy's speech during an address to Dáil Eireann, June 1963. Irelands participation in UN Peacekeeping represents the longest unbroken record of any nation in the world. Since 1958, Irish peacekeepers have completed over 70,000 individual tours.
