@beyonddefeated2 years ago Fun fact: The part where Walt blows up the room was actually pure improvisation. Actor Bryan Cranston actually brought an IED onto the set, which just shows his dedication to his act. 17863

@wookiebush74492 years ago Fun fact: This entire show was improvised. AMC went to do an interview with Bryan Cranston about Malcom in the Middle and he pretended he was a meth chemist with cancer. The interview went so well they never shut the cameras off and Breaking Bad was what came out of it. ... 4560

@RyzenThreadripper2 years ago FUN FACT: In the scene where Gus dies, Hector completely improvised the scene. Giancarlo thought he was coming in for a meeting with Hector, and both were blown up on set. Really added the needed realism to the show 775

@LionCub032 years ago I cried when Gustavo Fring said to Walter White: “It’s over Walt, I have the high ground” then Walter responded: “No, ‘cause I am the one who knocks”. It was the moment when Walter White became Breaking Bad. 368

@oliverimhoof2 years ago Wow. From Malcolm's dad, the most adorably dedicated family man imaginable, to Walter White, one of the most dangerous drug lords to ever be depicted on fictional television. Brian Cranston really has terrific range as an actor to pull off two vastly different roles that lasted so long and maintain character consistency. ... 472

@dj-flights73762 years ago This episode was a key turning point and sums up the entire series. @thememtozcorporation2 years ago The way this scene is choreographed is amazing. From the very beginning when Heisenburg refuses to sit, it shows that he had the most power from the beginning of the scene. And then when he blows up his office it becomes fully apparent that this isn't the naive old man that Tuco had thought he was. ... 48

@rondohatton46082 years ago I think Walter's transformation has a spectrum of motivational drivers behind it, a bit like a Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs progression. He needs the money to ensure his family can survive and flourish, and he realizes a pure form of Meth is an easy way to ensure his family is supported after he is gone. He has been humiliated by the girl he first loved leaving with his business partner, and he chose to leave a now thriving empire rather than see that relationship grow before his eyes. He has lost everything because he chose to stick to noble principles that brought him nothing. His rise up the drug empire ladder has brought him the wealth, power and respect that he has never had before, and he becomes drunk on the power it provides.
One of his main drivers is also being seen as the genius who produced a pure form of Meth that is respected everywhere. He wants to keep that mantle because it means a lot to him to be recognized for the brains that manipulated the chemistry that produced a drug-fueled high that captivated all who touch it. So there is a lot going on there.
He also began by thinking the good outcome outweighed the evil that he was doing, but when the buzz hit his reptilian brain he began seeking that high as an end to itself. But in the end he realized where that self-centered quest had brought him and he sought to set things right, to restore the balance, and to achieve his original aim of supporting his family when he was gone.
His final slight nod to Jesse was a thank you and a respectful recognition of a job well done, and his final smile as he lay dying was a realization that he enjoyed what he did, and he achieved his original aims in a round about way. Or perhaps he survived... hmmmm sequel with Walter becoming a drug king-pin in jail and busting out and living a cartel-type life of luxury in Columbia as he supplies Blue Meth all over the world and we all become his slaves. All hail Walter Almighty!!!
This show has so many fabulous scenes, but the most interesting scene to me was the scenario in the junkyard where the owner (Old Joe?) repeatedly stymies Hank with a series of references to Constitutional Rights that ultimately prevents him from opening the RV without a Warrant.
