Surrounded by glaciers in Peru (we felt small) - EP 76

The most amazing glaciers lake, hikes above 4000m, militaries on the trail and a gazillion switchbacks... This is the Cordillera Blanca of Peru (the white mountain range). This week we are over excited to bring you with us into one of the most impressive region we have seen so far on this world tour. Last week we got a little bite of it, this week we eat the entire cake! There is nothing that can really prepare one to the cordillera blanca. Imagine the nicest lake of the Canadian Rockies, with no one around... Well. make the lake bigger, brighter, the glaciers around multiply them by 10, and this is the cordillera blanca. And there is so a good reason it felt so unique. It is because... it is! It is the largest ice cap mountain range in the tropics. There are simply no glacier region that big between the tropic lines.
