@ruthmoeller98597 years ago Unbeknownst to me I've been doing a version of this already, but perhaps not simple enough. My categories are housework, yardwork, projects, errands, church & volunteer commitments, and fun. It is a sad commentary on my life that I actually have to have a category for fun, and it is usually the last category to be fulfilled, if at all. It is too hard to fold a paper in 6ths, and I like the list for things to discuss, plus the chance to record and hold items for later, so I will be experimenting with your system for the next few weeks to see how it works for me compared to my old way. Thanks for exposing me to new ideas.
BTW, my father came to Canada from Denmark (surname Albers) after WW II so I am happy for an opportunity to see Danish cities and countryside through you. Not sure if I will ever be able to come and visit, but I would dearly love to.
    Have a great day!

@sagpwe65597 years ago LOVE how simple this is.  You both captured and organized on a list all erands and tasks that need to be done.  Look forward to seeing how you will store papers that accompany some items on the list.  Complements the FlyLady Schedule so well. ... 10

@julieibbotson61937 years ago Great explanation as ever, Diane.  This fits in quite nicely with a book I'm currently reading about getting a better night's (Sleep by Nick Littlehales).  He suggests that many people experience difficulty sleeping because of all these thoughts running around our heads - that's certainly true for me - if I could press a 'pause' button for my brain I would!  He recommends making a list as you have described, and goes on to say that, as everything has been put down on paper, you can go to bed with the feeling that you have consciously addressed the issues for now. ... 6

@MsOLWYNN7 years ago So far so good Diane.Trying to not get overwhelmed. I see the benefit of planning. So many little tasks, mending, projects, errands, tasks, etc. Can see how things just got overlooked but niggled at my brain. I am prioritising I guess as I add to these categories. Thank you. Can't wait for tomorrow's installment. ... 1

@Julie-ok5fr7 years ago I knew it! This is what you mentioned a few months back where you fold the paper into fourths. {Home/Phone-Online/Discuss/Errand Day} I do this now, Diane. I started it when you 1st mentioned it back in June, I believe. One day, I searched for that past video to see how to do it again because I had tossed my old/completed list before remembering the 4 headings I needed to make out a fresh one ..lol It is such a relief to say "Good-Bye" to that messy, jumbled list all scribbled together at random and have it transformed into this. I so look forward to my new, freshly folded piece of paper every couple of weeks or so. I still have to stop myself though, before I begin to go back to my old habit of making a massive list of disconnected thoughts ;) ... 3

@lclively56767 years ago Hi (DID) Diane in Denmark,
The 'Outside the House' list is brilliant.
I can't tell you how many weeks that a queen size feather matress top has sat in the corner, because I forget about having to take it to the laundry-mat.
It is on my list now, to remind me to grab it when I do outside errands.
I also have a vase in the car that I have fortten for weeks, It too is on my Outside the House errand list to remind me to bring it in.

@monikamarsollek34937 years ago ❣Hi Diane, only 3 days and I trapped in some traps already...didn't check the list totally, so forgot a birthday, finished some things at once, added some things, well I definitely got more things done than usual;-). I never thought of first steps, all or nothing;-)... If I make a plan: as soon as I've finished the writing down, a weird feeling of resistance is coming up, usually not all things are nice and easy to do, but even IF they are easy! So it's kind of a fight with myself. I ordered the book from David Allen yesterday and, hurray, it's available in German and Amazon prime is so quick, it came before my morning routine was done!! I've noticed there are so many things to be done, I'll take a lesson in my tea times, thank you for your tips! Love, Monika❣ ... 1
