This soft and light Pita Bread is made from whole wheat flour and also has the trademark pita pocket perfect for stuffing with tahini, hummus, falafel and making pita sandwiches. Pita bread is one of the easiest breads to make. You can toast it to make pita chips or even use it flat to make a quick and easy pita pizza. Pita bread is a middle eastern flat bread that puffs up when baked creating an air pocket in the middle. As it cools, it deflates and flattens, but the pocket remains. Then, when you cut it in half, each half has its own pocket. NOTES: 1. You can add about 1 cup of water for 3 cups of whole wheat flour. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need to add 1 to 1.25 cups water. 2. You can make this pita bread recipe with all-purpose flour. You will need to add about less water when using all-purpose flour.
