UP: Interfaith couple stopped at Aligarh high court; man beaten in court premises

A 21-year-old man was assaulted in an Aligarh court when the interfaith couple came to register for marriage. According to police reports, the man, Sonu Malik, was allegedly pretending to be a Hindu and came from Aligarh. He met the minor girl in Mohali, Punjab, where he did odd jobs. The couple wants to register their marriage under the Special Marriage Act at the district court. In the video shown exclusively on Mirror Now, Sonu is being dragged out of court as the girl protests shouting that she “loved” him, while she was held by police personnel. As per the girl’s family, she had befriended Sonu on social media and later learnt that he belongs to another religion.
