Storm Ciaran leaves Martham with extensive floods and a mini waterfall #deluge #floods #weather Hi everyone, today I am in Martham looking at the extensive flooding, all along the marshes. As a result of Storm Ciaran and locked in tides, this is what we have here presently. The Marshes are totally submerged under water from Potter Heigham and beyond. I’ve lived here for 45 years and can’t remember anything quite like this. The water along where the holiday properties are, has breached the flood barrier along the path, into the ditches and then flooded the marshes. Heigham Holmes is an island , only reached by Martham Ferry and in 1987 the National Trust aquired it to become a nature reserve. Also on the island there is a derelict wind pump and a WW2 airfield.
